Green and off-grid homes in Santa Fe.

From our base in Taos, we design and build regenerative homes in Santa Fe and Santa Fe County: adobe, Earthship-style biotecture, ICF, 3D-printed concrete and passive house, with their own water, power and wastewater systems.

WINTER SNOW WINTER SOLSTICE · 30° THERMALMASS PLANTER CISTERN EARTH BERM SOLAR PV BATTERY ← SOUTH NORTH → COOLING TUBE · CLOSED COOL EARTH LOW SUN ENTERS · THERMAL MASS STORES HEAT
One year at 36.4° N. In December the noon sun sits 30° above the horizon, shines under the overhang and charges the thermal mass. By June it climbs to 77° and lands on the roof instead of the glass. Winter snow and summer monsoon rain run off the roof into the cistern, and solar PV on the north roof charges the batteries. In summer the earth cooling tube under the cistern brings in cooled outside air; in winter its doors stay closed.

02Permits

Permitted in New Mexico.

Biotecture and any other off-grid, sustainable building can be permitted and built in Santa Fe, as long as it meets New Mexico’s building, health and environmental codes. We provide construction and permit drawings, acquire the permits and deliver full turnkey construction.

Adobe and earth block homes are built to New Mexico’s own Earthen Building Materials Code, and an on-site wastewater system gets its own septic permit.
