A hurricane-resistant, off-grid residence in Myakka, Florida: two bedrooms, two baths and a central solarium.
Built to stand up to hurricanes.
A totally off-grid residence built to withstand hurricanes, arranged around a central solarium. It is built with recycled materials and runs with little to no fossil fuels or utility bills.
A 2.5 kW solar power system with grid-intertie. Catch water with a water organizing module for potable water, and a self-contained well as backup. On-site wastewater treatment with a leach field as backup. It keeps cool through thermal mass and solar dynamics, without fossil fuels, and can grow a large amount of food and flowers.
Full architectural services for an off-grid residence: design development, permitting and construction. Our role was project manager and builder.
