Walls printed in days. Built for generations.
We print structural walls directly from the digital model: a robotic printer extrudes each bead of material along a precise path, forming the walls, insulation cavities and architectural details with very little waste. Then we fit them out with the same off-grid systems as every building we make.
Chamisa Verde, Taos.
Chamisa Verde in Taos, New Mexico is seven deed-restricted homes led by Pangea. Some have 3D-printed concrete walls; the others have insulated concrete form (ICF) walls, chosen building by building. Construction is in progress. Chamisa Verde
What the wall does.
| Insulation | Dual-wall construction with an insulated cavity, built toward Passive House levels of performance. |
|---|---|
| Thermal mass | The inner printed skin stabilizes indoor temperatures year round. |
| Material + labor | Around 70% less labor on the walls and 30–50% less material waste than conventional framing. |
| Durability | Fire-resistant, water-sealed and structurally resilient. |
| Design | Curved walls, organic forms and built-in features cost little more than straight ones. |
| Carbon | Today’s mixes are cement-based; we are testing geopolymers, pumicecrete and rammed-earth mixes. |
Speed with dignity.
3D printing is one of four ways we build a wall, alongside rammed-earth tire, ICF and adobe. We choose it where speed, repetition and cost matter most: affordable housing, subdivisions and community projects.
It fits a bigger aim: ending housing insecurity with homes that are fast to build, cheap to run and resilient, while training local crews and modeling closed-loop, off-grid living.
Printed homes, answered.
Are 3D-printed homes safe and durable?
Yes. They are fire-resistant, structurally sound and exceed code requirements for insulation and resilience.
Is the material sustainable?
We currently print with cement-based mixes, and we are actively testing alternatives such as geopolymers, pumicecrete and rammed earth.
Can off-grid systems be integrated?
Yes. Solar, catchwater, greywater and our other systems are designed into each home from the start.
How are they permitted?
We provide the architecture and permit drawings, and work through the approval process with your local building department.
Can I learn to do this?
Pangea Academy runs hands-on training in regenerative building. Visit Pangea Academy.
